Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow = Inflammation (sometimes painful) of the tendons of the elbow, often caused by overuse of the lower arm muscles of the forearm and/or associated misalignment of the forearm, shoulder and/or neck bones.

How can Chiropractic Help with Tennis Elbow?

Chiropractic doctors may recommend certain chiropractic adjustment plans to relieve tennis elbow. If the inflammation originated through overuse it is important to rest the elbow area and to ice it down to reduce the inflammation. An elbow support brace or strap may be helpful if the problem continues and resting the joint is impossible. The chiropractic doctor can examine the problem area and locate any problems with the function of the elbow, bone misalignment and muscles of the forearm or wrist. A misalignment in the shoulders, neck, or back may lead to possible injuries in the arms and elbows, so these adjustments may be the primary approach to resolve the symptoms for many people. It is also very important to increase the blood circulation to the elbow and forearm area to enhance healing. The chiropractic doctor may recommend alternating hot and cold packs, massaging the muscles and specialized nutrition to assist the healing as well.
